Hello, Subscriber First Name

I have been typing away but not at newsletters. I’m pages deep in recording everything I know to date about gluten-free sourdough. The reality is that I type a little here and a little there and go days where I don’t get to it.

Most of my time is dedicated to Clancy, keeping our home clean and cozy, cooking good food, and did I mention keeping the house clean? I could mention it again with how many times I go through tidying and sweeping up messes!

Anything digital takes more time than it seems like it should. Sifting through the photos I have taken since the last newsletter tells me what we’ve been up to and what to include in the next edition. I often have ten different messages float through my head but only sometimes does one settle on my heart to share.

Saving, editing, and uploading photos and writing text. It is a mini major publication! But I enjoy the creative process.

In between all the things a toddler, home, and ranch bring, I’ve been crocheting washies, getting setup for a few sewing projects, experimenting with leather products, and perfecting my sourdough starter packaging. It has been a good busy.

We also had the most incredible second work party with fellow newsletter subscribers! We planted 18 trees which included five fruit producing serviceberries and transplanting 5 native junipers.

I am still working on a post with more details and pictures of the afternoon spent in service to bettering Big Rock in communion with such supportive, happy friends!

“You must be so happy.” One subscriber stated more than asked. I was on cloud nine after such a productive afternoon surrounded by people so dear to me in my most favorite place, Big Rock Ranch.

October 30th marked 5 years since we first stepped foot on Big Rock Ranch. Awesome seems like a hip adjective but it was so incredibly awe-inspiring, humbling, yet empowering experience to stand at the base of Big Rock.

All our actions feel like a performance for the 200+ foot tuff rock face.

Planting beautiful trees that honor the history of the area and add diversity and beauty I feel is a noble service making that rock look down with pride at its current keepers.

It is easy to be captivated by the large boulders and rock face that we live under, we can forget to give proper attention to the nooks and crannies. I’m thankful to spend my days reacquainting myself to the rocks and bushes, deer trails and irrigation ditches.

I’ve seen Big Rock and life through multiple lenses throughout the chapters of my life but I’ve never appreciated both the grandeur and the details quite so richly. Fall has never been a closer friend and as I see it leaving, I feel thankful to know fall and excited for a new friend in winter to fill our quiet lives under the rock.
