Did you see our names?! We are excited to be a part of our first holiday craft fair and especially thrilled to be participating in the 1st annual craft fair at Nathaniel’s cousin’s new food court and community building, The Barn.

I’ve had trays of Cordelia Gluten-Free Sourdough Starter drying all over the place, been sewing through bobbins worth of thread, and troubleshooting giftbags and Square card readers. All the things, which continually become more as I get dug in.

Nathaniel has literally been hand sanding cutting boards until his fingers bleed! They conveniently hurt too bad to do dishes. But, I jest, while they hurt him, he still bucks up and does more than his share of dishes.

Clancy has been getting to spend more time away from us with helping family, thanks to Meme, Tia, and Nana!

The following newsletter will be back to ranch life; thanks for sticking with us as we share more self-promotion than normal. As usual, when work-life gets a bit hectic, some hell has to break loose on the ranch!

Last night we found ourselves looking out the window at a raccoon looking inside, at us! Then, as we settled into bed, we heard the faintest commotion from the barn and just knew that the raccoon was fishing for sleeping chickens.

Nathaniel went out to see TWO sets of raccoon eyes in the chicken pen. One in a tree, the other on a large boulder. They didn’t scare away, and I must confess, bashfully, their oval faces, twitching little noses, and twinkling little eyes had us bewitched against pulling out the 20 gauge at 9 pm.

So instead, they survived and got a three hen and one rooster feast on us.

Tonight the spell is broken and the shotgun is out, and we already have wandered out once with it loaded to the chicken pen; no sign yet.

I’d like to say that we are all ready to go tomorrow but we will have an early morning full of last minutes before heading to Sisters for the day, excited to see our friends, meet new ones, and eat some good food!

My dad has been hand tooling and stitching a variety of card holders and wallets! He has also been handcrafting sea glass earrings.

Celebration Crowns hand felted by Nathaniel’s mom, Lori! Each one is a work of art with a different theme. They are so fun to pull out for birthdays, holidays, or on special occasions. Below is Clancy with his themed celebration crown and first birthday crown!

Don’t mind the recycled photo of Nathaniel’s works in progress, I meant to take a good photo of his gleaming cutting boards, polished to perfection, but I ran out of steam. I also didn’t think I’d be able to do a newsletter before the fair but here I am working overtime because I want to share with you guys!

He has beautiful cutting boards, some with deep juice grooves made from a variety of hardwoods including teak, maple, cherry, mahogany, walnut, and more species! They range in size from 12” to 20” and are nice and thick with beveled edges for easy grabbing.

We hope to see you at the Holiday Craft Fair tomorrow at The Barn in Sisters, Oregon, on Sunday, December 5th 11-3!

We have enjoyed this push to work individually but are excited to get back to this. More time to work the ranch as a family, feeding cows, being at war with raccoons, and filling water troughs!
